If you want to taste the Best Sandwich in Minnesota, you can find it just a short drive from the Med City.

That's the word according to a new national survey from the folks over at Big Seven Travel. They just compiled the 50 Best Sandwich Spots in America (that'd be one from each state, btw) and Minnesota's entry on the list is from the Saint Dinette, on 5th Street East in downtown Saint Paul (just a block down from CHS Field-- the home of the St. Paul Saints.)

Big Seven Travel says the Saint Dinette's bologna sandwich is tops here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. The site says "They make the bologna themselves, smoke the Canadian bacon, and roast the shoulder, and it’s accompanied by Swiss, mustard, and pickles," it noted.

And, I've gotta say-- it's pretty good. Like REALLY good. We were in St. Paul and stopped at the Saint Dinette a few years ago, and as a fan of a good Cuban sandwich, I was impressed. (If I recall, we also tried their cheeseburger, which was also REALLY good.)

You can read more about what Big Seven Travel says are the Best Sandwich Spots HERE. (Iowa's entry, by the way, is just a short drive away in Clear Lake. Wisconsin's, though, is a little further away-- the Underground Butcher in Madison.)
