
Driver Killed in Crash With Train at Minnesota Railroad Crossing
The preliminary crash investigation indicates he was driving an eastbound SUV on 310th St. when a BNSF train, traveling on tracks that head north and south, smashed into the vehicle.
Hancock, MN (KROC-AM News)- A motorist lost his life in a collision with a train at a western Minnesota railroad crossing on Wednesday.

That’s according to a news release issued by the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday.
He was the only occupant of the vehicle involved in the deadly incident.

Morris, MN Man Killed After Train Smashes into SUV at Western Minnesota Railroad Crossing
First responders were dispatched to the crash around 2:45 p.m. in the area of Hwy. 9 and 310th St., which is about 13 miles south of Morris.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates he was driving an eastbound SUV on 310th St. when a BNSF train, traveling on tracks that head north and south, smashed into the vehicle.
Authorities identified the driver as 49-year-old Edgar Aviles Rios of Morris. First responders administered life-saving aid, but Rios was pronounced dead at the scene, the news release says.
Authorities did not say whether or not the collision impacted the train. No derailment or spill was reported.
The Stevens County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol are investigating the deadly incident.
