Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle crash while apparently trying to avoid a police officer.

Police Capt. John Sherwin says an officer on patrol Sunday evening spotted 29-year-old Aaron Still driving a motorcycle at the intersection of 6th Street and 15th Avenue Southeast. The officer recognized Still as a person wanted on an arrest warrant, but before he could even activate his emergency lights, the motorcyclist took a quick turn onto 5th Street Southeast and then on to 12th Avenue.

The officer indicated he could hear the whining of the motorcycle's engine speeding away as he approached 12th Avenue and he soon came upon Still lying motionless near his wrecked motorcycle on a lawn in the 800 block of 12th Avenue Southeast with a meth pipe sticking out of his pocket. Capt. Sherwin says he apparently lost control and crashed when he swerved to avoid another motorist turning into his driveway.

Still was transported to St. Mary's Hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.
