New Guidance for Camping, Outdoor Rec During Stay Safe Minnesota
Our Stay-At-Home order is expiring Sunday, and the state has released new guidelines for getting outdoors during our Stay Safe Minnesota order.
Gov. Walz made the announcement earlier this week that our current Stay-At-Home order will end Sunday night. In its place will be the new Stay Safe Minnesota executive order, and it opens up a few more aspects of life here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
Specifically, we'll now be able to get together with friends and family (who don't live with us) in groups of less than 10-- as long as we're still doing the whole social distancing thing. And, seeing as it's finally getting warmer, getting together outside might be just what we all need.
The state has, though, recommended a few guidelines to keep in mind if you're having a bonfire in your backyard or are heading to one of Minnesota's many state parks to relax with family or friends. According to BringMeTheNews, while camping by yourself (or in a small group) is allowed, organized campgrounds, both public and private, are still off-limits.
"Minnesotans will be allowed to use 'dispersed and remote camping sites,'" the site noted, "Which is a single plot rather than a developed campground, or a designated backpack or watercraft campsite, such as those found in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness," the story said.
A few other outdoor activities are still not allowed during the Stay Safe Minnesota order, including charter boats, launches, or facilities that allow large gatherings of people including mini-golf, pools, racetracks and concert venues.
