Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -The St Paul bomb squad was called to Rochester Friday to take care of an old hand grenade.

Police say a man hired to do some gardening work at a home located in the 800 block of 8th St SW dug up the grenade Friday morning. At first, he thought it was a rock. He put it near a tree away from the house and called police.

It appeared to be a World War 2 device with the pin still inserted, indicating it was a live grenade. No word yet on whether it was.
