Susan was diagnosed with a heart condition at a very young age, but it didn’t really start affecting her until she was in high school. Eventually, the problem got serious enough that her pediatrician told her she shouldn’t participate in sports any longer.

Yearly cardiology check-ups yielded information that, even though her heart wasn’t in great condition, she should hold off on surgery for as long as possible. Eventually, her body was telling her it was time for a heart valve replacement.

The annual “Go Red for Women” luncheon will take place at the Mayo Civic Center on Thursday, February 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event will feature vendors, lunch, a Diva salon and a presentation. We encourage everyone, women AND men, to join us as we work to raise awareness and support for women’s heart issues.
