An 8th grader from Pacelli Catholic School in Austin will represent southeastern Minnesota at the prestigious Scripp’s National Spelling Bee in May. Shane DeSilva won the regional spelling bee and the trip to Washington DC by correctly spelling “polymythy.”  DeSilva is the first boy to win the regional contest since 2005. A Rochester student placed third in the competition. Christine Farnberg is a 7th grader in the Rochester Catholic Schools, while Wabasha-Kellogg 8th grader Olivia Sailer took second-place.
