Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester homebuilders took out 15 permits for new single-family homes in January.

That’s ten fewer than in the same month a year ago.

No permits were issued in January for multi-family projects, which have been booming for months in the city.

One of the commercial permits approved during the month was for the downtown Hilton hotel project along Broadway, formerly named Broadway at Center. The $1 million permit was for the project’s footings.

A $6 million permit for a project at St. Marys Hospital was also approved last month. The city approved a total of 140 permits valued at $23 million during January.
