It goes without saying that many of us are walking around under this hazy cloud of shock. The Las Vegas shooting continues to show us that the reality of tragedies happening in this world. It seems no one is immune it. Post-tragedies bring a strong desire of community and unity however. It is human nature.

    Candlelight Vigil for Connection

    A Candlelight Vigil for connection will be held at Christ United Methodist Church in Rochester, Minnesota, Tuesday, October 3 at 6:30pm. An opportunity to stand in a circle around the labyrinth with candles, connecting with each other in humanity and peace - being a light to each other and to the world. There will be a moment of silence for those lost in tragedies across the world and in this country. All are welcome.

    Donate Blood

    In the aftermath of the deadly shooting that occurred in Las Vegas, we have received many calls and questions about donating blood. All blood donation centers around the U.S. welcome your support. If you are able to give, please generously donate. While the blood donated at the Mayo Clinic Rochester location cannot be transported to Nevada, it will allow Mayo Clinic to be more self-sufficient with blood supply, indirectly supporting those affected by this tragedy in Las Vegas. For every unit of blood donated, as many as three lives may be saved.     Redcross in Nevada

    There is a push for blood donations in Nevada through the Red Cross. A hotline has been set up for friends and family. Consider donating directly to the Red Cross, however in-kind donations are currently not being accepted.
