Remember Stewartville’s Search for Billy Joel with #getbillytostewie?

Four years ago this week Nick Johnson was making news all over the country because he wanted Billy Joel to come to Stewartville!  And his students were helping him...with #getbillytostewie! How'd it turn out?

With a call from Billy Joel to the class to talk music and more. ff I remember correctly, the hashtag event got a lot of press, but it was a student's connection to someone in Billy Joel's world that really made it happen.

Such a fantastic thing...teacher makes comment, students pick up on it and do what students do best. Find a way to make it happen. Like THIS TIME middle school students in Byron were tasked with re-imagining the school.
