A northeast Iowa man is accused of holding a gun to a woman's head before allegedly fleeing to southeast Minnesota.

According to the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office, 54-year-old Patrick Curran of Decorah, Iowa, was arrested in rural Houston County on charges of first-degree burglary, a felon in possession of a firearm and felony stalking with a dangerous weapon.

According to the report, the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office received a report of an incident/disturbance in Hesper involving a firearm around 6 pm Saturday. It was reported that Curran allegedly fled the area prior to the deputy's arrival. During the investigation, the sheriff's office obtained information that Curran was at a residence in rural Houston County.

Curran was taken into custody without incident and is being held in the Houston County Jail on a Winneshiek County arrest warrant. Curran is being held on a $50,000 cash bond and the cash remains under investigation, and additional charges are pending including felony domestic assault.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Decorah Volunteer Fire Department, Winneshiek Medical Center Ambulance, Houston County Sheriff’s Office, Caledonia Police Department and the Spring Grove Police Department.
