I wish we had flowers popping up out of the ground already but unfortunately, we aren't seeing the green quite yet in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, or Illinois.  We ARE seeing one big sign of spring though and it is making everyone giddy and smile because it means Spring is finally here!

I've been looking extra hard for my first robin sighting but unfortunately, I'm still waiting to see one.  I know they are out there though because people were really excited to share about their sightings when I asked on Facebook.

Did you know that some robins stay in Minnesota all winter?

Here's a fun fact that you may not have known:  Not all robins leave the frigid state of Minnesota for the winter.  Ajnos Nosdivad made that comment on the Y-105FM Facebook page and is correct!  According to journeynorth.org, as long as there is food, a robin can stay in our area during the winter and survive.  Obviously in the winter, our ground is frozen so they are unable to get any worms, but they do feast on berries also.
