Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester is getting its money back from Rochester City Theater.

City Administrator Steve Rymer contacted the organization after a city council committee meeting this week that focused on its serious financial problems.

Rymer told KROC News Friday morning, “We have requested $150k be returned though have not received check at this point. Should receive today.”

The city gave $200,000 earlier this year to help cover its operations. That was before it was learned RCT has been dealing with significant budget shortfalls and large unpaid bills.

The city council committee is scheduled to meet again next week and come up with a recommendation on future funds for RCT. The full council is expected to take up the recommendation at its Feb. 19th meeting.
