Rochester Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Young Girl He Was Supervising
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester man is facing a felony criminal sexual conduct charge for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 10 while he was supervising her after school.
The criminal complaint against 63-year-old Paul Collopy alleges he inappropriately touched the girl from April 2021 through May 2021 while he was tasked with caring for her and ensuring she went through her nighttime routine at her residence for two nights per week. The alleged assaults occurred after the girl had completed her nighttime routine. Collopy also allegedly convinced the girl to touch him while he was supervising her, the complaint states.
The complaint says the girl told her mother about the touching in May 2022. The girl confirmed the story during a pair of interviews with law enforcement in May and June. Collopy is charged with 2nd-degree Criminal Sexual Conduct and is scheduled to make his first court appearance on September 7.
