Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A plea agreement has been reached in a local child pornography case.

53-year-old Thomas Lee Meyer today entered guilty pleas to four counts of possession of child pornography. Six other child pornography possession charges were dismissed under the plea deal.

The charges against the Rochester man were filed in December 2020 as a result of an investigation that began in January 2019 after Rochester police were notified about several images of suspected child pornography on a device registered to Meyer. The criminal complaint says a search warrant was eventually obtained for Meyer's residence and suspected child pornography was discovered on his phone.

The court document indicates Meyer eventually admitted to an investigator that he had viewed the images and thousands of others, which he had deleted from his phone. The criminal complaint included descriptions of 10 sexually explicit images discovered by investigators that depicted both boys and girls ranging in age from approximately 6 to 10 years old.

The judge in the case has ordered a presentence investigation and a psychosexual evaluation of Meyer. He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 24th.
