Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - An employee of a Rochester restaurant who refused to give a man a ride watched as the guy drove off with his vehicle.

The employee of Fat Willy’s was warming up his car around 1:30 AM Saturday when the man he knows made the request. A short while later, the employee saw his car driving off and called 911.

A police officer spotted the vehicle and gave chase until the thief began driving at a high rate of speed. The officer slowed but kept following the stolen vehicle. The officer found the car a short distance away after the thief had crashed in a ditch.

Arrested was 41-year-old Vincent Barry, who was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol.
