Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been sentenced to 10 years on probation for a conviction stemming from an assault and robbery in Chatfield last fall.

38-year-old Montez Ruth recently pleaded guilty to a felony simple robbery charge in the case.

He and 27-year-old Kayla Richards were arrested last November after a 56-year-old woman contacted the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department and reported that she had been attacked in her residence at the Chosen Valley mobile home park. The victim told deputies that Richards assaulted her and knocked her out before she and Ruth left with her 40 inch TV and a cell phone.

Rochester police were waiting for the pair when they showed up at their residence and the officers found the stolen items in their vehicle.

Richards, who earlier pleaded guilty to a felony assault charge and simple robbery, is scheduled to be sentenced April 11.
