Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man was arrested Thursday night after police say he threatened a former friend with a knife.

The incident was reported around 9 p.m. at the Oakridge Apartments in the 500 block of North Broadway.

Officers were told 51-year-old Kurt Meiners threatened to kill the other man while holding a knife. Cellphone video recorded by witnesses shows him chasing the other man down a hallway.

Police say the other man - who lives on a different floor at the complex - went to Meiners’ apartment to confront him about the way he had treated two of his friends when they were in a community room at the building earlier in the evening.

A police spokesman says Meiners had been drinking and was intoxicated.
