Is a Rochester Restaurant Now Closed Due to ICE Arrests?

Rumors were circulating today that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was in Rochester, Minnesota. While I don't have a full list of places that were visited by ICE, one place has been confirmed.

Is it true that Nupa in Rochester, Minnesota is now closed because of ICE?

On Wednesday, February 12th, there was some commotion in town that ICE had arrived in Rochester, Minnesota. As the assumption turned into a confirmation, a string of comments started surfacing as well.

Nupa, a Greek restaurant in Rochester with two locations, did share publicly on its Facebook page that ICE did visit their location. And two individuals were arrested as a result. Because of this action today by ICE, it was announced that one of the Nupa locations is going to be closed until further notice.

Unfortunately, we had two brothers working that may have been working under false documentation. From our understanding, ICE never asked for any documentation and arrested them in the parking lot. We are waiting to hear more. These two individuals accounted for many of our man hours. So we decided to close the South location and keep the North Store operating to fullfill caterings. Starting tomorrow Feb 13th. The Civic Center Drive location will remain closed until further notice and the South location will operate fully as we navigate staffing issues. Which may be difficult since we haven’t any new applicants in 4 years. - Nupa

Hate Is Ruining Our World Rochester, Minnesota

Hate is a real thing in our world and it is being shown publicly by quite a few people in our community today. It is extremely disheartening to see a town that claims to be "compassionate" to have such hateful words written by its residents. Many are names of people that I know.
