Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester Police arrested a 27-year-old man following an assault Sunday morning.

A spokesperson says a 26-year-old man was riding a skateboard near the Casey’s General Store along 18th avenue northwest when he was attacked around 11 a.m. He was transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital to be treated for his injuries. Cody Haakenson was arrested and will be in court today. Officials have not said what prompted the assault.

Police officers responded to reports of gunfire in a northwest Rochester neighborhood early Sunday morning, but no evidence of gunshots was found at the scene. The reports of shots being fired came in shortly after 3:30 a.m. from people living in the 5300 block of Kensington Lane. The responding officers did not find any damage or spent shell casings, but police continue to investigate the incident.
