Rochester Royals Season Ends at State Tournament

The Rochester Royals amateur baseball team lost their first round State Amateur Class B baseball game to the Chaska Cubs Sunday 4-0 in Litchfield, ending the 2016 season.  

The first round is single elimination.

The Royals’ Matt Meyer and Pete Ohnsorg of the Cubs were locked in a scoreless dual until Chaska broke through with 4 runs in the top of the 8th. Meyer gave up six hits, striking out 11 batters in 7.2 innings. Josh Conley finished the last inning and a third.

The Royals finished the season with a record of 18-11
