Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - One of the two men arrested as a suspect in a recent shooting in Rochester survived being shot in the head years ago.

Rochester Police Capt John Sherwin says 29-year-old Kaisar Nur was shot in the back of the head but lived through it, although he lost an eye.

He was sentenced to nine years behind bars in 2009 for two violent crimes, including an attempted murder case. Nur was also scheduled to stand trial next week for an armed robbery in Burnsville last year.

He and 26-year-old Abdulkadir Abukar were arraigned Tuesday on attempted murder and other charges and their bail was set at $500,000. They are accused of firing guns at a man’s car as he was trying to get away from them while driving near the North Broadway McDonald’s store Sunday.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a third man in the case. Attempted murder and other charges have also been filed against 25-year-old Abdirahman Abdullahi.
