Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - There’s been another shooting in Rochester - and it appears to be connected to one earlier this week. Wednesday night’s intended target is the brother of the man who was shot at Monday night.

Police were called to the Square on 31st apartment complex in the 300 block of 31st Street Northeast (previously known as Rochester Square) about 9:45 p.m. Witnesses reported hearing shots but never saw a shooter.

Officers checked surveillance video and were able to identify a possible victim. They went to the man’s apartment and he confirmed he was shot at.

The man says he and a friend were outside smoking when they saw two to three men approach. When they noticed one of the men had a gun, they ran. The victim says he did not call 911 because he was wanted on a warrant for a probation violation.

Officers later found two shell casings and discovered one of the rounds had struck an apartment building.

Monday night’s shooting happened near the 55th Street McDonald’s restaurant. A man was shot at while sitting in his vehicle in front of a residence. His vehicle was hit but he wasn’t hurt.
