I am looking forward to an event that is taking place as part of Rochesterfest this year on Thursday, June 26 at 7 pm. It is the Rochesterfest Karoke Contest!  Last year there were so many talented people and I will be helping to decide the winner again this year. I am telling you from experience it was really hard!  I bet there will be just as many entertaining and talented folks competing this year!

  • Shakespere in the Park - A Midsummer Night's Dream - Words Players

Soldier's Field/YMCA

For its fifth year, the Bard returns to city parks during Rochesterfest, delivering Shakespeare via a minstrel wagon, audience interaction, musicians and dancing.  Benches provided, but feel free to bring your lawn chair or blanket.  Refreshments available to purchase.

The Words Players Theatre younger Shakespeare troupe (cast ages 14 and under) will perform Everything You Want to Know About Shakespeare (in under an hour) during Rochesterfest.  They will perform scenes and tell the stories from MacBeth, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Hamlet, Taming of the Shrew, Romeo and Juliet, Comedy of Errors and As You Like It.  All three performances, except for a couple of brief appearances during Shakespeare in the Park performances, are at Words Players Theatre, 14 4th Street SW.  There is a 9:30 p.m. performance after the parade on June 27-a fun show plus concessions and music.  Shakespeare for the whole family!
