Byron, MN (KROC AM News) - A rural Byron man who was out for a snowmobile ride smelled smoke when he returned home late Wednesday night and drove to his neighbor’s home, thinking their house was on fire.

Minutes later he discovered it was at his property.

52-year-old Jessup DeCook saw smoke coming from his outbuilding and called 911. The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says the building was wiped out. It’s not known what was inside. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The property is located in the 1400 block of 13th St NW.
