Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A sentencing hearing has been scheduled in a Rochester murder case.

26-year-old Sao Yim is due back in court on December 18th to learn of his punishment for a fatal shooting in Rochester about 2 1/2 years ago. Yim was convicted of a second-degree murder charge late last week following a court trial before an Olmsted County Judge.

He was also found guilty of a charge involving the illegal possession of ammunition stemming from the investigation into the March 2018 shooting death of 40-year-old Ahmed Muafaq Abdulhussein Al Naddf following a confrontation outside the victim's northwest Rochester apartment. Prosecutors alleged Yim believed Al Naddf had bumped into his car, which was parked on the street that runs past the victim's residence.
