Hazardous weather is expected to hit several areas of Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin on Wednesday.  Plan ahead now because large hail is anticipated for multiple areas.  Below is the latest from the National Weather Service and several other news sources.

Large Hail Expected in Parts of Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin on Wednesday

Forecasters are tracking a significant severe weather threat for our area on Wednesday.  Unfortunately, large hail isn't the only concern for people in the area.

According to KEYC, all types of severe weather on possible right now - damaging winds, large hail, and the possibility for tornadoes.  Here's a breakdown what to expect:

Wednesday Morning:  

Strong storms are possible tonight into early Wednesday morning,
with large hail being the main threat.  In the Rochester area, these should show up between 3:00 am until 7:00 am.

Wednesday Afternoon: 

According to KTTC, this is when the weather could get dangerous.  The prime time for this severe weather is from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm in the area around Rochester, but based on a few sources, it really depends on what happens overnight and in the morning.

According to the National Weather Service La Crosse, the following was predicted for Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Very large hail, damaging winds in excess of 75 mph,
and multiple tornadoes will be the main threats. Locally heavy rain will also a hazard.

 

Depending on how storms evolve on Wednesday afternoon, there there could be a risk for severe weather over northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin early Thursday afternoon.

Late afternoon, it is predicted by KTTC that we could see large to very large hail, strong tornadoes possible, and damaging wind gusts.  In the evening, we could see winds exceeding 75 mph, large hail and the potential for tornadoes.
