Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Snow has ended across southeast Minnesota and driving conditions are expected to improve through Thursday.   

Rochester crews have been busy clearing streets that became clogged when a burst of wet, heavy snow hit the city around 4 a.m. This led Rochester Public Transit to cancel its routes until 8:30, although its Park and Ride operations continued to run.  

MNDOT lifted its No Travel advisory for southeast Minnesota at 8 a.m. Thursday.

The snowfall total at the Rochester airport was just under 5 inches at midnight. Nearly 6 inches fell after midnight, which broke the record for Thursday's date that was set last year with a total of 2.6 inches.  As of 7 a.m. the storm total at the airport was 10.5 inches.

The National Weather Service received a report of 12 inches a few miles southwest of Hammond as of 7 a.m. Similar amounts are being reported in the Wabasha and Winona areas.
