Maplewood, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol says a St. Paul man was not wearing a helmet when he was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon.

The deadly incident was reported at 4:50 PM on Highway 61 in Maplewood. The State Patrol says 68-year-old Donald Nordquist was approaching a red light and when he hit the brakes he was thrown off the motorcycle and suffered fatal injuries.

Another motorcycle crash on Saturday sent a Chicago woman to the Winona hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The State Patrol says 58-year-old Lynda Stephens was headed north on Highway 43 in Fillmore County when she hit a patch of spilled diesel fuel while turning left onto Highway 16 in Rushford and lost control of her motorcycle.

The State Patrol reports noted she was wearing a helmet.
