Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The real estate market in southeastern Minnesota posted some strong results in September.

The Southeastern Minnesota Association of Realtors says the number of closings on existing home sales were up 7.8-percent from a year ago, while pending sales were 20-percent higher. The region also saw a nearly 8-percent jump in new listings and the median sales price climbed 7.3-percent from last September to $155,000.

The statistics for the City of Rochester show closings on existing home sales are up 27-percent through the first 9-months of the year, and median sales price has risen to over $181,000 as the number of homes for sale has dropped over 30-percent when compared to September 2014.
