In Zumbrota, there's a guy named Bob Lucas. He's an artist. And a gardener. But his green thumb isn't just for his yard, because he doesn't have a yard. It's for his parking lot. Or rather, the parking lot behind his apartment building.

It started a while ago, so a shopkeeper there told me. He says little by little Bob cleaned up the dingy, trash filled parking lot. Then he got the idea to do a sculpture garden of sorts. And, over the years, he and his dog have made a beautiful refuge from the noisy world.

His dog didn't really do any gardening, he just needed walking, and while the dog was doing what dogs do, Bob Lucas was picking up trash, arranging things, and, eventually, planning things.

Take a trip to Zumbrota soon...it's only 28 miles away, and it'll give you a TON of ideas for your garden next year.  Plus great places to eat and drink, and trails, too.

PS - WHILE IN ZUMBROTA YOU MUST EAT A CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICH HERE!
