Why is a Little Caesar's in Fargo giving away so many pizza slices? Are they trying to set a world record for FreeZa? Nope. It has to do with a heart condition.

Three years ago, Jenny and Mike Stevens bought a Little Caesars and almost immediately contracted the condition Heartius Doeseuth Goodius (or in every day speak, "Kindheartedness"). They noticed people going thru the shop's dumpster looking for food, so, this is how they responded. WIth a sign in the window.

"To the person going through our trash for their next meal, You're a human being and worth more than a meal from a dumpster. Please come in during operating hours for a couple of slices of hot pizza and a cup of water at no charge. No questions asked."

Three years later, they're working with three shelters to make sure hungry people have food. The Today Show said,

As of Oct. 1, the pizzeria had given away over 142,498 slices, which is about 17,812 whole pizzas and about $70,000 worth of food.

They do have a way you can help...it's a little plastic container on the counter you'd miss entirely if you weren't looking for it. I say it all the time, this is who we are.
