Walmart Announces More Bonuses And The End Of A Holiday Shopping Tradition
Walmart is giving employees another bonus next month. The extra payment will range from $150 to $300 for full and part-time workers. The news was posted to the company website and said, "This is the third special bonus Walmart has given to associates in 2020, totaling $1.1 billion in bonuses so far this year, in addition to the regular incentive it provides to frontline associates on a quarterly basis."
In the past, Walmart had always opened its stores on Thanksgiving with special deals to kick off the holiday shopping season, but that won't happen this year. The world's largest retailer announced that its stores will be closed on Thanksgiving. John Furner, the president and CEO of Walmart US, said, “We know this has been a trying year, and our associates have stepped up. We hope they will enjoy a special Thanksgiving Day at home with their loved ones. We are certainly thankful to our people for all of their efforts.”
