Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - How about some spring-like weather this first week of spring? If the current forecast holds, the Rochester area could experience its warmest weather since Halloween by the end of the week.

High temperatures are expected to slowly rise this week and reach the mid 50’s Friday and some areas could see upper 50s Saturday. Part of the reason for the warmer weather is the disappearing snow cover. Rochester’s official snow depth has shrunk from 2 feet in early March to only a few inches as of Sunday morning.

And, it is also expected to be dry all week, giving the area a chance to dry out from recent rain and snowmelt.

Just a few days before the first day of Spring (Wednesday), robins and grackles began arriving in Rochester in large numbers Saturday.
