Everyone deserves shelter and thankfully, Rochester has an amazing organization that is open as a day center for those in need. The Salvation Army in Rochester is the new home for the day center but since they opened, several items have been requested for the community members to donate in order to provide for those in need.  Today, another request has been added to the list.

Health and safety update: we now need unopened packages of water bottles in order to have water on hand for guests of the Day Center. Donations of bottled water are much appreciated and can be brought to 115 First Avenue NE here in Rochester. Thank you for your help! - Rochester, MN Salvation Army Facebook Page

What items are needed?

  • unopened packages of water bottles
  • small shampoos
  • women's underwear
  • toothbrushes
  • razors

You can drop off donations at 115 First Avenue NE in Rochester, MN, 55906.

How many people are helped each day at the day center?  According to a story at centralusa.salvationarmy.org, Major Bob Mueller, Rochester Salvation Army administrator stated, “Between 40 and 50 people are coming to the center every day.  This place is a critical resource for countless people in our community who are struggling due to COVID-19.”

Do you know another organization in the area that is helping people out during COVID-19?  Let me know who they are on my Facebook page (Jessica On The Radio) or Instagram.  I'd love to connect with them and learn more.
