Forbes Magazine recently put out a list of 2018's billionaires and 6 Minnesotans made the list, 3 from the same company! So who made the list and where are they in comparison to the richest person in the world Jeff Bezos. The richest Minnesotan on the list is Whitney MacMillan with a net worth of $6 billion, the financial magazine estimates, making the former Cargill CEO and great-grandson of the company’s founder the world’s 289th richest person and 88th richest in the United States.

The next Minnesotan on the list you probably knew was rich, but billionaire rich? Glen Taylor, the Mankato-area printing company executive who also owns the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Minnesota Lynx and the Star Tribune. Taylor is listed as the 924th richest person in the world at $2.6 billion.

Third in the state and 1,103rd globally with $2.2 billion is radio and TV Minnesota mogul Stanley Hubbard, whose Hubbard Broadcasting owns KSTP in the Twin Cities, 12 other television stations, 41 radio stations and the Reelz cable movie channel.

Holding down the fourth spot by a few hundred million is the owner of Starkey Hearing Technologies Bill Austin. Austin places 1,477th in the world, having amassed $1.6 billion.

The two people share the 5th spot on Minnesota's list of billionaires. They would be the children of our #1 Whitney MacMillan with $1.3 billion each. Cargill heirs John MacMillan and Martha MacMillan also rank 1,756th in the world.

When I first saw this list, I only really knew 2 of the 6 names on the list, Hubbard and Taylor. Makes you wonder how long it will take for people to be on the Trillionaires list.
