When Did Gamestop Close in Rochester, Minnesota?
Before digital downloads became popular, GameStop was THE spot to go to buy and sell new and used video games. They also had opportunities to trade in old games and consoles for cash or store credit, which was another popular feature. If you were looking to buy a new gaming system, you could find PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo here as well. Pokémon cards, Funko Pops, and other collectibles were also found at most GameStops, too.
In Rochester, at one point in time, there were two different locations for GameStop. The location at 221 28th Street SE officially closed in December 2025. The second location was in NW Rochester, where Wingstop is moving into, and it closed on January 15th, 2026.
