Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A woman who was caught driving drunk in Rochester in September 2017 with several young children in her car pleaded guilty Wednesday and was sentenced to a year in jail.

But she won’t actually serve the time because she was sentenced to prison two days earlier for a DUI arrest that took place a month after the Rochester incident.

42-year-old Tasha Schleicher also had another Twin Cities area DUI case dismissed.

In the Rochester incident, an off duty officer spotted her driving erratically with 5 kids in the car. When Schleicher stopped, he called other officers and they found her breastfeeding her month-old baby. She was arrested after a test found she had a blood/alcohol level of .17.

A month later, Schleicher was caught driving drunk in Bloomington. She pleaded guilty to a felony DWI charge in that case and was sentenced Monday to 41 months in prison.

Schleicher had three other DWI arrests on her record prior to the Rochester incident.

A warrant was issued for her after she failed to show for court hearings in the Minnesota cases. It was later learned she had been arrested in Chicago for DUI after being found passed out in a vehicle at a gas station.

Because of all her troubles, authorities decided to take away her kids.
