Please, please, someone keep Daube's Bakery going in Rochester!  This amazing bakery (that has the best carrot cake in town, FYI!) is now looking for a new owner.

Since 1988, Daube's Bakery has served the Rochester, MN area. Now, they have made the difficult decision to close their main bakery location. Interested parties may purchase the bakery as an ongoing business for a short period of time. If no buyer comes forward, the assets will be sold with the highest bidder on each item winning. - grafeauction.com

Jeff Kiger at the Post Bulletin shared the news that the original Daube's location on Civic Center Drive is up for auction.  You can read the entire story, info about the subway location, and the history of the Rochester company here.

Daube's Cakes & Bakery didn't say anything about the auction on their Facebook page but they did share this message:

Daube’s bakery has been a part of the Rochester community for more than 30 years. We are grateful for your continued support. We hope to be reopening in the near future and appreciate your patience during these difficult times.

With love,
The Daube’s team
(40+ strong)

The third Daube's location, which opened up on South Broadway this past fall, is planning on reopening.  They are also selling a bunch of their grocery items like flour, yeast.  If you've been on the search for those to fill your pantry, you can learn more here.

Now is your chance to become the next great baker in Rochester!  You can check out the auction and photos here.
