I mean this with the utmost respect, but I sincerely expected Minnesota to be in the top 10 when it comes to fattest states. I mean, come on, we hide inside for 9 months out of the year eating tater tot hot dish and other comfort food. Come summertime, we eat all things deep-fried on a stick at all the fairs. Believe it or not, Minnesota is far from the fattest state in America. In fact, "we are one of the (would you say thinnest?) least fat states coming in at number 46."

So what state has the fattest (their words) people? According to WalletHub, Mississippi. Followed by West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Delaware, and Ohio wraps up the top 10. "To determine where obesity and overweight most dangerously persist, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 29 key metrics." They looked at things such as cholesterol levels, how many adults have type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and the percentage of people that are inactive.

The only states that are thinner (I'm going with it) than Minnesota are California (surprise, surprise), Connecticut, Massachusetts, Colorado, and Utah. Click here to read more about the study at WalletHub.
