Happy Birthday to Pac-Man, which recently turned 34 years old!   How many of you wasted a ton of ton of quarters at the local arcade or spent endless hours on your old-school Atari playing this simple yet fun game?   Heck, there was even a song called “Pac Man Fever”.  Here’s how the news covered the Pac Man craze in 1982.

I remember hanging out at the arcade at Apache Mall when I was a kid.  My passion was pinball machines but that changed after the arcade added new things like Space Invaders, Asteroids and Centipede.  Then there was Pac-Man!  There was something so addicting about going through that blue maze, gobbling up pac-dots and fruit while avoiding Blinky, Pinky and Inky.  The best way to defeat them was to grab a power pellet and then eat my dreaded enemies.  What could be more fun than that?
