Rochester's Gasoline Prices Have Gone Up

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - As of this morning, gasoline prices in Minnesota were pretty much holding steady but that may soon change as a result of Hurricane Harvey.

Industry experts predict price spikes of 10-25 cents due to the loss of the refining capacity in the storm zone, which produces a large portion of the country’s gasoline.

So far in Minnesota, there has been just a slight increase in the statewide average.

GasBuddy Minnesota’s website shows the average for a gallon of regular was around $2.31 per gallon Tuesday morning.

Rochester’s average price rose by a nickel Monday with the average for regular now at $2.35. It’s not known if this is a result of Harvey. It may also reflect the upcoming Labor Day holiday weekend, a period when prices have risen in recent years.
