A Vikings Fan Even In Death, Minnesota Man’s Obituary Trending
The phrase diehard Vikings fan might have new meaning to you after this. Longtime Vikings fan John J Ford passed away on Monday night and his obituary reflects, in tongue in cheek fashion, that it might have been the Vikings coughing up 17 points in Seattle that did it.
The Vikings held a halftime lead over the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football before losing to a final score of 37-30.
"Age 86 of Plymouth, passed away surrounded by family on December 2nd after the Vikings allowed 17 unanswered points." - John J. Ford's Obituary
There was more to Ford's life than the purple and gold of course, his obituary mentions that he was a veteran and had taken 26 "exits in fright" as a paratrooper with the 1st Airborne Battle Group, 187th Infantry. He served his country as a 1st Lt. in the United States Army. But that opening sentence has gotten ALOT of attention.
But the Vikings were his team, according to KSTP-TV Ford at one point in his life had season tickets on the 50-yard line for years.
Hopefully, John will be looking down from those bleachers in the sky on Sunday and see a Vikings win over Detroit, as the team continues to make a push to make the playoffs.
Ford's funeral is set for this morning (Friday December 6) at 11am.
