Businesses in Rochester Where You Will & Won’t Have To Wear A Mask
Yesterday we got the good news that Minnesota would follow the latest CDC guidelines on masks and remove the statewide mandate. According to the CDC, the mandate remains in effect for "crowded indoor settings, including buses, planes, hospitals, prisons, and homeless shelters" and Governor Walz did say individual businesses still have the option to require customers to wear masks.
The city of Rochester echoed the Governor's message leaving the decision up to business owners. Several popular chains that have stores in the Med-City have already announced their plans. Below you'll see a list of places in Rochester where you will and won't have to wear a mask.
Home Depot is still requiring customers to wear a mask at this time.
Masks are no longer required at Target.
Walmart is no longer requiring vaccinated customers to wear a mask.
Costco has updated its policy and customers who have been vaccinated are no longer required to wear a mask.
For now, masks are still required at TJ Maxx.
Starbucks is keeping its mask requirement at this time.
Masks are still required at JC Penney for the time being.
Trader Joe's has lifted its mask policy for fully vaccinated shoppers.
City of Rochester Facilities
At this time, masks are still required to be worn inside all city facilities.
Rochester Public Transit
Drivers and riders on Rochester Public Transit buses are also still required to wear facemasks under a TSA Security Directive. The occupancy of the buses is also still limited to 50 percent.
