Rochester, MN (Rich Peterson/KROC AM News) -- Rochester Police apprehended a 23 year old Rochester man who stole a vehicle around 9:30  last night from a driveway at a residence on the 600 block of 6th street southeast in Rochester.  

According to the police report, the homeowner had left his car keys on his deck when Abdullah Mohamed Hussen reportedly grabbed them and drove away in the car.

The resident shouted which alerted some residents who then drove after the stolen car which  crashed into a parked car near 9th street and 9th avenue southeast.  A policeman was flagged down after the man fled the scene.

Hussen was apprehended by police a short time later and is now in custody and charged with motor theft and leaving the scene of an accident.  The stolen car received minor damages and there were no injuries.
