It's a cute, little building in downtown Rochester but it sounds like it will be one of the next buildings to get demolished.

According to Jeff Kiger at the Post Bulletin, "a demolition permit was filed last week for the almost 90-year-old building at 405 First St. SW".

I know this building quite well since I work right next to it.  It has housed a few different operations throughout the years including China Star and most recently, Damsy Restaurant.

It's no secret that downtown is changing.  Townsquare Media is right smack in the middle of all the buildings coming down and new ones going up, not to mention all the construction on the roads.

I will say that I'm excited that Cafe Steam is now open across the street from the studio in the new One Discovery Square building.  But, I'm questioning "what is next?".  In the story published by the Post Bulletin, it indicates that "the ultimate goal is to eventually re-develop the whole block".  Well, Premier Bank takes up one corner of the block and Townsquare Media is on the opposite corner, so...I guess they are talking about us.

When I find out "what is next", I'll be sure to share the info over on my Facebook page (Jessica On The Radio) or DM me on Instagram.
