
Twin Cities Crash Claims Life of Young Girl, Injures Other Children
Independence, MN (KROC-AM News)- A fatal crash in the Twin Cities claimed the life of a young girl and sent other children and two adults to the hospital on Wednesday.

A news release issued by the West Hennepin Public Safety Agency says three vehicles were involved in the deadly crash. It happened shortly before 8 a.m.
Wednesday morning’s fatality continues a deadly stretch of days on Minnesota’s roads. At least eight people have died in traffic crashes in Minnesota since Saturday.

11-Year-Old Girl Killed in Fatal Crash Involving 18-Year-Old Driver Near Minneapolis, MN
First responders were dispatched to the fatal collision at the intersection of Hennepin County Roads 6 and 83/110 in Independence, which is about 20 miles west of Minneapolis.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates a 41-year-old Maple Plain woman driving an southbound SUV proceeded into the intersection after stopping at the four-way stop.
A westbound pick-up, driven by an 18-year-old St. Paul man, failed to stop at the intersection and slammed into the SUV, the news release says.
Authorities say a 43-year-old man, a 4-year-old boy, two 15-year-old boys and an 11-year-old girl were riding in the SUV. All SUV occupants were brought to North Memorial Hospital with moderate to serious injuries.
The 11-year-old girl suffered life-threatening injuries and was eventually transported to Children’s Hospital where she died. The names of the people involved in the crash are being withheld pending family notification.
A Dodge Pick-up was also involved in the crash, however the news release does not describe that vehicle’s involvement.
The tragic crash is under investigation and authorities plan to release more updates at a later time.
