Biwabik, MN (KROC-AM News)- A young man lost his life in a northern Minnesota skiing accident over the weekend.

Law enforcement responded to the ski resort on Saturday on the report of a skiing accident.
Ski Patrol extracted the accident victim from the hillside and he was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance, authorities say.

21-Year-Old Man Dies from Injuries Suffered at Popular Minnesota Ski Resort, Investigation Underway
A news release issued by the Gilbert Police Department says the deadly skiing accident occurred at Giant’s Ridge Ski Resort in Biwabik.
Police are describing the victim as a 21-year-old man. Despite life-saving measures, the young man was pronounced dead at the hospital, the news release says.
His name will be released upon family notification. Gilbert police say the investigation into the fatal accident is ongoing.
