Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the region because of the possibility of an icy mix of precipitation Tuesday night and early Wednesday.

The winter weather advisory covers an area of northern Iowa, south-central Minnesota, southeastern Minnesota and portions of western Wisconsin. In the Rochester area, it will be in effect from 7 PM Tuesday through 4 AM Wednesday.

Forecasters are predicting rain, mixed with sleet, freezing rain, drizzle, and snow before it becomes all snow, with 1 to 3 inches of slushy accumulation possible by Wednesday morning. Slippery travel conditions are anticipated throughout the region.
