The Fourth of July is two weeks away, just enough time to get your plans together and start working on how you're going to decorate your boat for the upcoming Roberds Lake Club Boat Parade. Most of the boats I saw last year went with one theme or another such as patriotic, Santa, tropical, birthday, sportsman, rubber duck and more. Basically if you can make it work on a boat, you can theme it any way you want, but please keep in mind that this is a family event so decorate accordingly. I would like to see a Star Wars or Star Trek themed boat this year or maybe a giant Minion from Despicable Me. If I had a boat, that's what I'd go with. Area businesses have provided some nice prizes and judges will pick the best decorated boat, with all entries receiving prizes.

If this sounds like something you'd like to participate in this Fourth of July, then contact Ted or Susan Tuma at (507) 334-2004 or email them at tstuma3@msn.com or can stop by the Roberds Lake Resort and sign up there.

If you're boatless like me, then grab your family and friends and head to Roberds Lake on the Fourth at 2PM to see all the festively decorated boats during the 18th annual Fourth of July Roberds Lake Club Boat Parade. Make sure to bring a blanket or chairs to sit on.

The new Minnesota State Fair Food was announced yesterday, and most of it's good, but one is just the worst thing you can do to America's Best Food! Corn on the cob is literally the greatest part of the American Culinary Experience, and what these folks did is just evil. Eeeeveeel! Click HERE (or the picture) to see what they did.
